Flu vaccination service
On this page you will find information about the Flu Vaccination Service.
We strongly encourage you to use PharmOutcomes to record your flu vaccinations. It has many useful features including automatically transferring the data to the MYS app, you will just need to check the data and submit. In most cases it will also notify the patients GP for you. Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG have asked that if PharmOutcomes notifies you that a GP surgery is not able to receive MESH notifications you report this to CAPCCG.PrimaryCareIT@nhs.net
The service spec and PGD for 2021/22 were published 6th August 2021 – NHS England » Community Pharmacy Seasonal Influenza Vaccine Service
Confirmation of training requirements for 2021/22 have now been published – Flu vac: confirmation of training requirements for 2021/22 : PSNC Main site
All pharmacists providing the service should:
- undertake face-to-face training for injection technique and basic life support (including administration of adrenaline for anaphylaxis) at least every three years.
- complete the CPPE Declaration of Competence for Vaccination Services
NHSE East have provided contractors in our area with access to PharmOutcomes to record vaccination provisions. This should ideally be done with the patient as PharmOutcomes is designed to be used during patient consultations and will ensure you follow all the necessary steps. PharmOutcomes data will be used to pre-populate the NHSBSA Manage Your Service (MYS) application.
All Flu Vaccination claims must now be sent to the NHSBSA via the MYS app. You should log in to MYS at the beginning of each month to review and submit the previous months data. This will ensure prompt payment from the NHS.
