New Medicines Service (NMS)
The NMS commenced in October 2011. It provides support for patients with long term conditions who have been prescribed a new medicine to help improve adherence.
Pharmacists must ensure they have the skills and knowledge listed on the NMS self assessment form. A completed copy of this form should be stored in the pharmacy. A copy of the form can be found on the PSNC website
On this page you will also find details of learning materials available from CPPE.
Contractors must notify our local NHSE area team before they begin providing the NMS – england.pharmacyeast@nhs.net
The total number of NMS completed during a month should be recorded on the FP34c submission document. You can now use the NHSBSA Manage Your Service app to complete the submission document.
