Palliative care
This service is aimed at the supply of specialist and palliative care drugs, the demand for which may be urgent and/or unpredictable and takes place during normal opening hours for the community pharmacy or commissioned extended hours e.g. Sunday/public holiday rota. It is currently only available to 15 pharmacies, chosen from those who expressed an interest, to ensure good geographical coverage of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The previous voluntary agreement will be decommissioned from the 1st June 2019, see the useful documents section for further details.
All pharmacists involved in delivering this service must be appropriately trained in the operation of the service as identified in the CPPE Introduction to Palliative Care course
All pharmacists must also show they have completed some Continuing Professional Development (CPD) relevant to this service.
