The Pharmacy First Service launched on 31st January 2024. Pharmacists can give advice and treatment for seven common conditions without the need to see a GP.
The Pharmacy contraceptive service has now been expanded and contractors will be able to provide tier 2 of this service to patients. For full information on this service including updated service specification, PGDs and how to sign up.
From 1st December 2023, suitably trained and competent pharmacy staff (pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other non-registered members of the pharmacy team) can provide the service.
