Changes to diet and fluid descriptors

In April 2018 the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists and the British Dietetic Association adopted the new International Dysphagia Diet Standards Initiative (IDDSI).
From 16 July 2018 Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust Community Speech and Language Therapy Team started using the new descriptors for fluid. This is now aligned with the local acute hospitals who are already using the new descriptors.
Please be aware of these changes when prescribing fluid thickeners. More information is available below.
