Be Part of Research is a free UK-wide service designed to make it easy for people to find and participate in health and care research. Anyone can register.

Key features include:

• Searching: Users can search for health and care research studies based on health conditions and convenient locations.
• Registration: Users can sign up for a free account to be automatically matched and contacted about suitable studies based on their declared health interests.
• Study Range: The service covers a wide variety of research, including studies into diagnosis, prevention, new treatments, and quality of life.
• Benefit: Registration keeps users up to date with the latest research opportunities.

Express interest to be part of Be Part of Research Pilot in Community Pharmacy

• Goal: Promote the Be Part of Research service to pharmacy service users.
• Incentive: Pharmacies will receive £500 for their support.
• Timeframe: The promotional activity will run over a 4-week period.

• Required Actions from Pharmacy:
  • Ensure all staff read the brief training materials provided by the project team before the start of the pilot. (very brief)
  • Promote the service, using provided leaflets, posters, and social media/website content.
  • Deliver short ‘elevator pitches’ to as many service users as possible (any staff member can do this), over the designated month
  • Keep a tally of conversations with service users to track impact.

• Proposed Start Date: Around International Clinical Trials Day, which is May 20th. Final dates will be confirmed in discussion with and to suit the chosen pharmacies.
